![]() On September 11, 2001, as the nation tried to make sense of the destruction in New York and the Washington DC area, local, state and federal assets were being mobilized to deal with the aftermath of the terrorist attacks. One of the federal assets being dispatched early on that day was California Interagency Incident Management Team 3 under the leadership of Steve Gage, Deputy Chief of the Kern County Fire Department. Chief Gage and his team were assigned to assist the National Urban Search and Rescue efforts at the Pentagon. Club member, Steve Gage, will share with us the challenges they faced assisting with search, rescue and recovery efforts at the Pentagon Terrorist Attack in Washington, DC. |
