Sparks Rotary is made up of approximately 100 local business men and women. With help from our members and the community we are able to give back to our neighbors and the world via the following programs. The Rotary Club of Sparks has been serving the City of Sparks and surrounding areas since 1948!

The purpose of REGL is to provide high quality leadership training with a strong emphasis on ethics to selected 8th grade students who have demonstrated leadership skills. Our aim is to provide these selected students with tools for the difficult choices that they face as they move into high school.

Sparks Rotary is a Partner in Education with Diedrichsen Elementary School. One of our key projects with the school is a weekly book donation to their school library. We honor our weekly guest speakers with a book in lieu of a speakers gift.

Achievement Beyond Obstacles (ABO Nevada) aims to provide support for and award scholarships to deserving high school seniors who have triumphed over hardships, demonstrated personal leadership and courage, and yet show academic improvement.

Annually, Sparks Rotary awards scholarships to area High School students.

 

Held every 2nd Saturday in June, this event is open to all kids in the community. At our most recent event we were host to over 1,200 youth from the Northern Nevada area. We have expanded Kids' Free Fishing Day to now include a separate day for special needs youth.

Founded in 2011, the Maison T Ortiz Youth Outdoor Skills Camp is a weekend-long event designed to give youths outdoor skills training and a fun overnight camping experience.

Sparks Rotary is a partner with the Northern Nevada Chapter of Safari Club International, Nevada Bighorns Unlimited, and The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW)

The Rotary District Youth Instrumental Music Contest is open to all high school students in Rotary District 5190 area. Sparks Rotary is honored to host students to compete at the local level. Winners of the local contest will move on to the District level competition.

Christmas Island Medical Supplies
