Dr. Karin Hilgersom became President of Truckee Meadows Community College in June 2016. She most recently served as the president of Sullivan County Community College, SUNY Sullivan, in Loch Sheldrake, New York. She previously served as the executive vice president for Walla Walla Community College and for Central Oregon Community College. She earned her doctorate in Educational Policy and Management, and her Masters in Rhetoric and Communication at the University of Oregon.
 
Dr. Hilgersom began her community college career as a faculty member in 1986, which included experience as full-time faculty, department chair of Communication Studies, and dean of Arts and Sciences at Spokane Community College. She has taught thousands of students in numerous professional technical, health careers, and transfer majors. Her management experience has included the supervision of academic programs, executive teams, tutoring centers, community and extended learning, small business development centers, libraries, distance learning, and campus IT.
