Mark Sterbens will provide an overview of the Marnell Gaming LLC acquisition of the Nugget earlier this year along with current and future plans for the property.

Mark is a native of Las Vegas and graduated from Bishop Gorman High School in 1991 and from Pepperdine University in California in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree from the Graziado School of Business.

Mark has worked for many major casinos in Las Vegas including the Rivera, the Rio, MGM Grand, the Luxor and the Mirage. In 2002 he was named Director of Marketing for Herbst Gaming and served in that capacity through 2008 with the responsibility to market eight properties in three states—five in Nevada, two in Missouri and one in Iowa.

Mark joined Marnell Gaming in January 2009 as Vice President of Marketing for Colorado Belle and Edgewater Casino Resorts in Laughlin, Nevada. During his tenure he was promoted to VP of Casino Operations and Food & Beverage operations and in August 2013 to Assistant General Manager. Mark has been responsible for marketing and management of massive departments at both properties, building teams to manage gaming, food & beverage, marketing and entertainment. He has instituted a number of programs designed to improve efficiencies, reduce expenses, update technology and recognize and promote staff internally.

Over the course of his tenure in Laughlin, Mark has been instrumental in supervising the construction and operation of the two most successful new entertainment venues in Laughlin, the Edgewater E Center and the outdoor multi-purpose 10,000 seat Laughlin Event Center. The two venues have brought headline entertainment to Laughlin and generated millions of dollars in revenue citywide.
