April 29, 2015 Program: Pete Etchart | Economic Development & Education

Pete Etchart, Chief Operations Officer for the Washoe County School District (WCSD), will provide a presentation on economic growth and its impacts on school overcrowding and repair needs.  The focus is on regional economic growth (as forecasted by EDAWN, Truckee Meadows Regional Planning, and UNR), the construction and repair funding needs of WCSD over the next ten years, and the legislative issues and solutions under consideration to address those needs.

Pete is a fifth generation Nevadan who is a graduate of the University of Nevada with Bachelor’s Degrees in Renewable Natural Resources and Civil Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Prior to coming to WCSD, Pete was previously employed in both the private and public sector including being the Engineering Manager for Stantec Consulting and the City Engineer for the City of Sparks. In his position as COO for the WCSD, Pete oversees Capital Projects, Facilities Management, Information Technology, Transportation, and Nutrition Services.
